Well, he’s done. I’m very satisfied at how he came out.
I have not attempted light sourcing in years and this didn’t come out too bad. I’ll need to refine the technique some but it is rather fun to do.
With Arkhan complete, I believe I can call my Tomb King Army finished. I still have some units to finish off but with 7 characters and 12 units complete, I can proudly say this is the largest army I have ever done.
Feels good.

Awesome source lighting sir! I am a HUG fan of source lighting. Always gives the model a very “caught at the moment, ‘Pic'” kinda feel. The Scarab monster…dude…guy, is nice looking too. I think one thing that would have really set it off would have been to make the middle of of the fig, darker than the top or bottom. This goes inline with the drawing your doing also. From the viewer, the ‘stomach’ of the fig is the furthest point. Plus with it underneath the Upper section, it should not be as highlightened. Granted, you ACTUALLY paint, so my PoV might not be right, lol…
Thanks Robert! The OSL was fun to do but I’ll need more practice to get it working. You are right about Apophas, I did him months ago and I really didn’t try. He kind of blows on the table top…

Thanks again for the help on the sandstone effect. My contest entry turned out as well as I’d hoped. I’ve posted a number of pics of its progress on warseer and made sure to link to this site whenever mentioning your technique.
